Meet Dr. Hamid Jafarzadeh Bakooei

Dr. Jafarzadeh is an experienced endodontist, educator, and researcher with more than 20 years of clinical experience and academic leadership. Known for his calm and gentle approach, he is dedicated to relieving dental pain, preserving natural teeth, and making endodontic care as comfortable and reassuring as possible.

Dr. Jafarzadeh earned his dental degree and completed his first specialty training in endodontics in 2005 at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. He subsequently established a successful referral-based endodontic practice and held several academic leadership positions, serving as a Professor of Endodontics, Head of the Endodontics Clinic, and Postgraduate Program Director. He was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. After moving to the United States, he completed a second advanced specialty program in endodontics and earned a Master of Science degree at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, complementing his extensive international experience with U.S.-based specialty training.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jafarzadeh has performed more than 14,000 endodontic procedures, including complex root canal treatments, nonsurgical retreatments, endodontic microsurgery, and regenerative procedures. For more than two decades, he has also served as Scientific Director and an endodontist at a specialized Dental Trauma Center, where he helped diagnose and manage more than 4,000 cases involving traumatic dental injuries. He uses advanced technologies, including dental operating microscopes and three-dimensional CBCT imaging, together with minimally invasive techniques to support accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment, and preservation of natural teeth.

Dr. Jafarzadeh has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications. In 2023, he was recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the Stanford-Elsevier citation database. He serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics, the official publication of the American Association of Endodontists, and papers he co-authored received Journal of Endodontics awards in three consecutive years from 2023 through 2025. He is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists.
Outside the office, Dr. Jafarzadeh enjoys spending time with his wife and twin children, playing soccer, swimming, and participating in motorsport rallying, in which he has earned two gold medals. He is fluent in both English and Farsi.
