Patient Information

We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you are in pain or have an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you the same day.

The appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you cannot keep your appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with 48 hours’ notice to avoid a financial charge.

We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. Dr. Mahjour often treat complex endodontic cases, so various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Your first appointment includes a consultation to review your diagnosis and options for treatment. In many situations, treatment will also be performed at the first appointment. Cases involving surgery, complex medical history, or complex treatment planning/diagnosis often will require a second appointment for the treatment.

After reviewing your medical history and X-rays, Dr. Mahjour will take a thorough dental history, followed by a detailed examination of the affected tooth and surrounding area.  Once a diagnosis is made, Dr. Mahjour will discuss her recommended treatment.

To assist us in providing you the best service, please bring the following information to your consultation:

Your referral form and radiographs (if printed)

A list of your medical conditions and medications (with dosages) you are presently taking.

Please alert us of any medications, medical conditions, allergies, or changes in medical status prior to starting any treatment.

If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card and information with you.

You can save time by filling out our registration paperwork online.

If you have been advised by your physician to use an antibiotic pre-medication due to your medical history, please alert our team.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years of age at all visits.

If you are pregnant, please bring a letter from your OB/GYN clearing you for dental treatment and specifying any necessary precautions or contraindicated medications.

Our team wants to ensure that our patients can afford to save natural teeth and have happy smiles. Before any treatment, our front desk team will review the cost of the recommended treatment along with an estimate of your insurance benefits. The estimate of the amount covered by your insurance company is based upon the information they provide to us, and it is not a guarantee of benefits or the amount that will be paid. We file all insurance claims as a courtesy to our patients. If the amount paid by the insurance company is less than or greater than the estimate, then you will be billed the difference or issued a credit on the account in the event of an overpayment.

At Purcellville Endodontics, we accept major dental insurances and it is our goal to maximize your benefits. We also are partnered with third-party financing companies such as Care Credit and Cherry payment plans that provide low monthly payment plans for procedures if you need assistance. For your convenience, we accept cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If you have any questions regarding your dental insurance or payments, please do not hesitate to ask when making your appointment or at the time of consultation.
