Meet Dr. Mahjour
Years of Experience
Dr. Mahjour is a board-certified endodontist and maintains diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics. With over 12 years of experience in dentistry, she is committed to providing the highest quality care to patients through evidence-based practices. She also serves as a lecturer at Howard University College of Dentistry, inspiring and educating future generations of dentists.
After receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2011 and gaining two years of practice and research experience, Dr. Mahjour entered the Ph.D. program in Oral Biology at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded a fellowship to pursue her passion for research and science. She has presented numerous oral and poster presentations at scientific dental meetings and received several prestigious awards, including first place in the American Association of Dental Research (AADR) – Boston chapter for two consecutive years and the Russek Student Achievement Award.
To further her interest in endodontics, Dr. Mahjour enrolled in the endodontic residency program at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she received advanced training in complex root canal treatments and micro-preapical surgery, utilizing the latest technologies. During her residency, she was featured as Resident Spotlight in the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) newsletter. Dr. Mahjour has authored more than 15 peer-reviewed articles, publishing in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Dental Research, and Nature-Oncogenesis Journal.
Dr. Mahjour is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Outside of her career, Dr. Mahjour enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys playing tennis, skiing, camping, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
